Rick Keller

Meet Our President and Owner

Keller received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering with honors (Cum Laude) from Ohio University in 1975. He has taken graduate level classes at Memphis State University and Purdue University.

For more than 40 years and counting, Keller has engineered literally thousands of projects that span a broad range of unique structural and civil engineering challenges and solutions. He thrives on the unexpected and is adept at solving difficult design problems with unique yet simple solutions that lead to cost-effective construction.

Keller volunteers his time with Clay Fire Department's Tactical Search and Rescue Team as a structural specialist. In this role, Keller helps the rescue team to assess a structure that is in danger of falling down in order to ensure that it does not collapse while the rescue team goes inside.

The rescue team was established after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Keller understood that engineers were involved in helping to save people who were trapped in buildings on that day and he wanted to use his expertise in order to be able help in this community if there was a similar emergency. He has been a volunteer with the tactical search and rescue team since 2006. It is the only tactical rescue team between Kalamazoo, MI and Indianapolis, IN that serves this region.

Since 1975, Keller has worked as an engineer in a variety of capacities. Before starting his own company, he was a senior associate and business partner at Ken Herceg and Associates. Early in his career he gained a broad range of experience working in the engineering division at Proctor & Gamble. He helped design such products as Luvs Diapers, Dunken Hines cookie mixes, Jiff Peanut Butter, and Crest Toothpaste, to name a few. Since then, he has had outstanding success including being Project Superintendent for the construction of the Olive and Sample Street overpass project in 1984, and in designing structural and civil engineering solutions for clients such as

  • The University of Notre Dame
  • Martin's Supermarket
  • Siemens Corporation
  • The City of South Bend
  • City of Elkhart
  • Mishawaka Housing Authority
  • As well as many local architects and private clients.

After starting his own firm, Keller developed close business relationships with architects and other design specialty firms to provide full service design capability. We have maintained those relationships on a multitude of projects for over 15 years.
